Jennifer Goff and Brian Scruggs will talk about their original comedy, Not from Around Here, which is having its professional premiere at Pioneer Playhouse in Danville, and how a play goes from an idea to a full-blown production. Jen and Brian, who are co-authors but also happen to be married, not only wrote the play, but Jen will be starring in Not From Around Here while Brian will direct. Heather Henson, managing director of Pioneer Playhouse, and other cast members will be on hand to talk about the process of working on an original play.
Jennifer Goff is an associate professor and chair of the Centre College Theatre Program. She has directed many hits at Pioneer Playhouse over the years including That Book Woman, Southern Fried Funeral and Southern Fried Nuptials.
Brian Scruggs is an associate professor at Eastern Michigan University’s Entertainment Design and Technology program. He is also a freelance designer who has worked at theatres across the country, including Michigan Shakespeare Festival, Tipping Point Theatre, and Williamston Theatre.
