In the Spotlight

For the month of November we will be hosting beloved local artist, David Farmer for his exhibition “The Language of Color.” In Farmer’s own words, “My paintings illustrate the use of color as an emotional language to transform the energy and nuances of nature in a way that invites contemplation and interest. It is a process of pursuing a strong impulse to become a deeper part of something—a place, an atmosphere, an event—to embrace in another way.” All are invited to the Opening Reception on November 5 at 6:30 PM. On exhibit Nov. 4-28. Click here for more info.

On November 3 at 6:30 PM, join us to hear Kentucky author and Civil War historian, Bryan Bush, talk about his latest book, Danville, Kentucky During the Civil War. Published in 2026, the book provides a historical overview of Danville, Kentucky, focusing specifically on its role during the Civil War. Click here for more info.

BCPL is proud to offer the Literacy Bell Program, which applauds children who have read their first book independently. If your child has read their first book by themselves within the past year, they are invited to attend a community celebration on November 7 at 10 AM. At this special event, children will have the honor of ringing the meetinghouse bell at Constitution Square Historic Site and add their name to the "Book of Readers." Registration is required.
