In the Spotlight

If your child has read their first book by themselves within the past year, they are invited to attend a community celebration on Nov. 8 at 10 AM. At this special event, children will have the honor of ringing the meetinghouse bell at Constitution Square Historic Site. In addition to ringing the bell, your child will enter their name into the “Book of Readers” and receive a certificate honoring this momentous occasion. Click HERE for more info and to register.

Captain Underpants says “Drop Your Drawers” to help support our school resource centers! This November, the library is asking people to donate new underwear for Family Resource Centers in Boyle County and Danville Schools to use for their students. Our goal is to collect 500 new underwear and socks for our community! Bring your donations to the library’s lobby to put in our Captain Underpants mailbox, or drop them at the donation bins in local schools.

Join the library, the Boyle County Performing Arts Center, and our community partners for a series of special events centered around the children's book, "The Remember Balloons" that are designed to spark meaningful conversations about dementia and Alzheimer's disease in our community. From school activities to family programs, these events invite youth and families to reflect, share stories and celebrate the importance of holding onto memories together. Click here to learn more.
